Mary Kay Hall Horner

Mary Kay Hall Horner '62

Major: Music, with a minor in History

Favorite Professor: Dr. Curt Beck (chemistry). He and his family were the house fellows at Noyes (which opened her freshman year).

Career: Has been varied—from piano teacher to Senior Vice President for a large Kansas City bank, to her current position as Vice President of the University of Missouri (at Kansas City) Conservatory of Music.

"I have included Vassar in my estate plan because I truly believe that ALL the various things I have been able to do in my career and life have been possible because of my outstanding education. I attribute my ability to analyze and think rationally as well as the development of my self-confidence to my four years at Vassar. The excellent liberal arts education I was privileged to receive allowed me to switch from a strong background in music to a senior executive position in a very different field, that of banking. Vassar will always have a strong place in my heart!"

Pictured with her husband Charlie—they married right after graduation. She celebrated her 50th Reunion and Anniversary at the same time!
